I hold an engineering degree from VJTI, Mumbai (2001) with an enviable academic record and MBA in Global Marketing from Thunderbird School of Global Management (2008), AZ, USA (GPA 3.83). During MBA, I had the good fortune of publishing a business case with the Harvard Business Review, which augments my academic excellence.
I am currently responsible for establishing and managing Social Media Monitoring and Analytics as a consulting and analytics services practice at IMS Health, a 2.3 Bn. global healthcare corporation. My role includes end to end practice management starting from assessing market needs and conceptualizing solutions, to globally rolling out analytics services and ensuring smooth deliveries. My expertise lies in understanding business requirements, helping clients or internal stakeholders define business problems, designing and correctly pricing custom solutions and mobilizing relevant resources in the ecosystem to achieve measurable results. At IMS, I have successfully conceptualized and launched social media analytics services and delivery processes which serve diverse needs of a global B2B clientele in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. A significant part of my profile includes internally and externally evangelizing analytics ideas and ensuring quality delivery at scale. I routinely interact with clients and present company capabilities at industry event as well as annual customer events, globally. I am also responsible for releasing online collateral such as blogs, videos, white-papers, case studies etc., which are aimed at demonstrating thought leadership in social media and digital media analytics space.
I have strong experience in Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, International Marketing and Marketing Strategy in general. The uniqueness of my marketing experience lies in the fact that I have worked in both B2B and B2C domains in diverse set of industries such as large scale manufacturing and exports, technology star- ups, digital marketing and advertising agencies, pharmaceuticals companies and online travel services providers.
In my previous assignment, I conceptualized, planned and implemented various digital customer engagement experiences using social media platforms. For instance, one of the most successful engagement programs included a video contest that we conducted on Facebook using Wildfire apps that became immensely popular. It not only educated a large chunk of new customer about effective ways of treating upper respiratory conditions but also introduced company’s product to them, thus offering a sustainable competitive advantage to the company to gain market share.
I am adept at finding creative solutions to complex problems. For instance, one of my previous assignments, I redesigned the customer acquisition strategy by including a well-planned social media marketing program through Facebook, which not only helped the company acquire new customer in large volumes, but also at a faster rate. It is needless to say that this augmented company’s revenues substantially.
I am thoroughly experienced in conducting market research, data analysis, data interpretation and making strategic recommendation that drive product enhancement and new product development. For example, I conducted 6 digital customer product surveys to gain insight into customer requirements, their experience with company’s products, desirable features, competitive comparison and pricing. I compiled and analyzed data using various tools such as charts, pivot table in MS Excel, statistical tools etc. My recommendations have contributed significantly to increased revenue, customer retention, customer loyalty and customer evangelism.
For inducing efficiency in Search Engine Marketing, I have developed a proprietary and comprehensive keyword research model. This model, which is published on my blog, is aimed at making the keyword selection process easy, logical and efficient. As a Digital Marketing Manager, I am responsible for setting up company’s comprehensive web presence, installing and managing web marketing processes, setting up company’s digital marketing enterprise and engaging the digital partner ecosystem. Some of my job duties include; website development, traffic generation, digital content creation, inbound marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), budget management, keyword list optimization and expansion, designing reference landing page and transactional landing page, A/B testing, designing webverts, pay per click advertising (PPC), conversion tracking setup, account set up and optimization (Google AdWords, Microsoft AdCenter, Yahoo Search Marketing), social media marketing, marketing collateral development, blog creation and blogging, article marketing, link building, digital brand management, online reputation management, email marketing, content evangelism, analyzing website performance, tracking market trends, spotting growth opportunities, data analysis and reporting, competitive analysis and benchmarking, online PR, and agency hiring and vendor relationship management. I am also experienced in creating white papers, case studies, presentations, pod-casts, etc. and engaging customers online.
Last but not least, having done business in various geographies such as US, Europe, ANZ, Japan, and South America, I have strong cross functional and multicultural team building skills and strong knowledge of international negotiations. I managed exports of manufactured goods to EU, ANZ and South America at Alok Industries. During my first assignment at Bombay Dyeing, I managed large export accounts for consumer goods in EU and ANZ markets.
